Anesthesia Side Effects
All surgeries have risk and various side effects. How do you know if you have a normal side effect of anesthesia or if it is something more serious? Not all side effects indicate a medical error has occurred. Some of the common side effects may include:
- A feeling of nausea and vomiting lasting for a few hours up to a few days.
- A sore throat
- Dizziness and blurred vision due to a loss of fluids and lower blood pressure
- Headaches
- Itching- may be a side effect of stitches or various opiates
- Pain at the point of injection
- Various aches and pains or backache.
- Minimal amount of bruising and soreness
- Temporary memory loss
